On a Hybrid guitar you can simultaneously play bass lines, chords, and melodies. It has the full range of a standard bass and guitar all on one instrument. The bottom 3 strings are dedicated to a bass register, and the top 3, 4, or 5 strings are in a guitar register, all on one neck. Each side has separate circuitry and is meant to be plugged onto its own corresponding amplifier. Hybrid-guitars Co. instruments are designed and built by Charlie Hunter, Clay Conner, and Wes lambe.
